Carved Triquetra
Emerald stone carved as a triquetra.
The stone has melted gold on its lateral sides.
The triquetra symbol was found on runestones in Northern Europe and on early Germanic coins.
It is also a symbol for the Japanese Shintō religion as the power of becoming or creation. The three deities are associated with musubi Takami-musubi no Kami, related to the gods of the heaven; Kami-musubi no Kami, related to the gods of the earth; and Ame no Minaka-nushi no Kami, the Heavenly Centre-Ruling Deity.
The triquetra is also a very special symbol on the celtic culture and more recently with the Wiccan and neo-paganism spirituality, related with the three divisions of the world (Land, Sea and Sky), or as a symbol of one of the specific Celtic triple goddesses.
The symbol is also sometimes used by Wiccans and some New Agers to symbolise the Triple Goddess, or as a protective symbol.
